Hi there, and welcome to this monthly UHK status update!
In May, we shipped about as many UHKs as we sold; thus, we couldn't catch up with pending orders effectively. Our PCB contract manufacturer has moved to a new facility, which put UHK 60 v2 assembly on a halt due to a temporary shortage of PCBs. Our contractor has successfully migrated, and UHK 60 v2 production will resume this week.
On the flip side, we've been preassembling modules, palm rests, and various subassemblies over the past two weeks, so we expect to ship many, possibly a record number of orders, in June.
New orders are expected to ship in September, and we'll update the delivery status page every weekend.
If there's an ultimate modder, Roger has earned the title as he transformed his UHK 60 v1 like no one else. He added foam and replaced the key switches to minimize their noise. Then he replaced the USB Mini-B connector with an easily accessible USB-C connector and added a magnetic connector for increased convenience. In true keyboard modder's fashion, Roger also replaced his keycaps. Now comes the crazy part: he added Bluetooth to his UHK without any visible bulk, like it's a factory feature. Mad props to Roger, and check out his post if you're interested in modding.
We're delighted to hear from UHK 60 v2 customers as they receive their orders. If you got your UHK, tweet about it, or it didn't happen!
Got my UHK last week and after spending a few days with it I'm blown away. During the setup and configuration wizard I was just grinning and chuckling the whole time due to how well thought out it is. Truly a hacker's dream come true! Some highlights:@UltHackKeyboard pic.twitter.com/q64DuKMuys

Thanks for reading this update! We鈥檒l be keeping you updated on all things UHK and plan to publish the next update at the end of June.

Does this delay mean that units which were to be shipped in July last weekend are now to be expected in September?
We've adjusted our estimates to be more conservative. We believe that August should be realistic.
My UHK V1 feels so lonely ;-)
#12920 here
I believe you corrected the estimates from august to september.
Any chance these estimates might be reflected onto the order-status page in my account?
We may hit August, but we adjusted our estimates to be less optimistic according to community feedback.
I'm sorry, but we can't allocate time nowadays for implementing estimates on the account page. The delivery status page is the best resource we can provide currently.
Cheers,
short question.
I have multiple orders open.
My latest order is #12412 but it only contains a few accessories.
My original keyboard order is #11886
Do I now have to wait till every single order before #12412 is shipped until I'll my original keyboard order #11886 is hipped?
Or will everything be shipped together once my board is ready?
Thanks in advance!
Hi there! Your orders will be shipped together according to the order id of your earliest pending order.
Perfect, thanks alot!
Can't wait to get my hands on the UHK.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Short question:
My order is #11886, is it realistic to expect it to ship in July?
If I compare the last two shipping updates of you you rougly send out ~100 boards per week, is this correct?
Regards
Hi there! The manufacturing progress you mentioned is in the ballpark. I think August is more likely than July for your order.
If I leave my UHK keyboard unconnected to a computer the left side of the keyboard will "forget" the configuration I have loaded into it. None of the remappings or macros are remembered. And even the left and right mouse buttons on my keycluster do not work until I reload the configuration.
How long should the memory "last" on the keyboard?
Hi David, and sorry to hear about this issue!
Do you possibly connect the left side and key cluster module after connecting your UHK via USB? If so, this firmware bug is the culprit.
The workaround is to connect the UHK via USB after connecting the left keyboard half and modules.
Thanks for your understanding until we fix this bug!
I can see that you asked the same question over email which I've just answered. Any further issues, please let's discuss them over email because it's counterproductive to use multiple communication channels.
