Hi there, and welcome to this monthly UHK status update!
We keep catching up with pending orders, even though parts have been flowing in slower than anticipated due to Covid in China. As a result, we’ve been preassembling UHK subassemblies and modules in the last couple of days, but UHK 60 v2 shipments will resume the next week.
New orders are expected to ship in June, and we’ll update the delivery status page every weekend.
No UHK 60 v2 reviews have been done yet because customers come first, and we’ll only send units to reviewers after shipping every pre-order. But we’ve made an exception with Simon Høiberg because his enthusiasm is contagious, and we didn’t want to stop his momentum.
Apart from his great energy, Simon’s review is very informative and insightful, and it also showcases the modules and his configuration, so we highly recommend watching it.
We’re delighted to hear from UHK 60 v2 customers as they receive their orders. If you got your UHK, tweet about it, or it didn’t happen!
@UltHackKeyboard is easily the best keyboard I've ever owned. It's my first split and first 60% so it was a leap of faith but the design team has done a fantastic job. Highly recommend! pic.twitter.com/e6mCMr39f1

@UltHackKeyboard I’ve a UHKv2 and a https://t.co/G5K7gFti7t nano, with a Logi MX Master 3. Hot swapped to Kaihl Box Jade switches💥🟢 from Kaihl Box Brown. I’m more productive on home row and my hands are happy even on long days of hacking. 💯 ⌨️🖲🖱 Ask me anything. #gotmyuhk pic.twitter.com/95r3OykJzc

I finally got my @UltHackKeyboard!! It took a while to arrive due to some of the things I wanted with it but after having it for a few days, I am in love. 😍 It's smooth, comfy, and just looks gorgeous. And I absolutely love the UHK Agent software for remapping. 10/10 keyboard. pic.twitter.com/Jt0FYec5RR

Got my @UltHackKeyboard in the mail today. Wonderful to type on, and those silent brown switches are pretty quiet and sturdy. Here's the keyboard and some unboxing! pic.twitter.com/aP4AXDCbYn

Thanks for reading this update! We’ll be keeping you updated on all things UHK and plan to publish the next update at the end of April.

Thanks for the update! It's a bit hard to guesstimate the time until my order is processed. Could you give an indicator of how many non-black case orders are before #8759? Or how soon that might ship when all parts has arrived. I suppose it's not ~600 non-black case v2 orders before mine but it's still hard to reason about.
Thanks for the update here and on the delivery page. I feel proud to own this product (UHKv1), it is really great to use and very flexible compared to competitors.
There are about a hundred non-black case orders before #8759 to be shipped. We expect to ship your order in April.
Thanks for your kind words and patience!
Can the delivery status page have a small table of like every 500 order numbers and the date range it'll be done in, even if it is a guess? The newest one shipping hasn't changed in 2 weeks. Thanks
Just updated the delivery status page. I don't plan to include a table, but the page will be a lot cleaner soon as we'll catch up with early non-black orders, and a simple interval will be shown without special cases.
Hi,
will there be a tap-dance feature in the agent software at some point?
Wow, after years of waiting I really like it.
The agent software is amazing.
Unfortunately my taste in keyboard firmware evolved during that time.
And I really would love to use more of the amazing possibilities you could do with an fully customizable keyboard.
Oh, and a short tutorial/hint how to install the feet would be great - i needed quite some time to figure it out ^^
Hi there, and thanks for the nice words!
Tap dance may be possible with Karel's UHK firmware fork, which will be gradually integrated into the stock firmware via smart macros, starting from the next firmware version.
As for feet installation instructions, have you visited the https://uhk.io/6 address that is featured in the box of your UHK and on its back? It contains our onboarding manual including relevant pages, such as https://ultimatehackingkeyboard.com/manuals/uhk60pr2/tenting?onboarding=1
Thank you so much.
Yes... there is a video.
I followed the link provided in the package but couldn't find the trick to twist the feet - destroying one in the process 😅
(I re-orderd already)

Please help me understand if I got this right how to use Karel's fork.
I flash his firmware - and nothing on first look will change.
I still will be able to use the agent in the same manner and will still have my macros and changes on the keyboard I made so far?
But will have the option now to write in the syntax provided in his documentation in the macros to use a whole lot more of options?
I am not really a programer, but found my way around with qmk and some scripting ^^
And last question, what is the best way to create a backup of keyboard layout, before trying to flash new firmware?
thank you so much
Karel's firmware won't affect your existing configuration, and your UHK will be usable with Agent flashing it. You can export your configuration on the Configuration page of Agent, regardless.
I'm not sufficiently familiar with Karel's firmware. We don't provide support for it because although it's very powerful, it's not very user-friendly, and it contains a huge feature set. An questions about it, please feel free to ask him in an issue of his repo. We'll be integrating features from Karel's fork to the stock UHK firmware in a much more user-friendly way via a new feature called "smart macros" starting from the next Agent and firmware release.
Hi, are you planning to update the delivery status page? It says above and on the page itself that you're going to update it every weekend. The last update is from March 28. Would be good to get a sense of where things are going.
Hi there! Just updated, and sorry for the delay.
Great, thank you for the update.
Hello,
Was there another update to the delivery status page coming? I see the last updated was on 3/28 and there were supply issues noted at that time. Getting excited about my order shipping soon!
Hi there! Just updated the delivery status page. We're doing our best to catch up. Thanks for your patience!
HI Lazslo - it looks like the there hasn't been any changes to the order number of black cases. Is production still blocked at the moment?
Hi Joe! We were blocked due to unusually long shipping delays, but production is back. I updated the delivery status page yesterday.
Thank you very much!
After 15 months of wait, just received my UHK v2 today! There were some problems with the customs due to the fact that I moved since I ordered the keyboard, but Nora from UGL has promptly re-issued the invoice, so the keyboard crossed the borders as planned. I also had to pay extra fees to the customs - sad reality of not living in the EU.
But boy oh boy, it's here and it's beautiful, the colored case is beautiful, the backlight is soft and not disturbing at all, braided cables are nice, hot-swappable feet and palm rests are great - didn't need a screwdriver this time, built as tank like the first version, and the sound!.. I went for Boxed Browns, and they feel and sound really good. I wanna type just for the sake of typing. The only thing is, the "ping sound" issue surfaced. My UHK v1 uses Blues, and I'd expect those to produce more "pings", but I hear no ringing at all. And a bit of it on the V2. Apparently that's a common issue if you have a metal plate in your keyboard. I'll try to introduce some O-rings, see if that helps. Apart from that, a great product as always.
Thanks for your patience! We're much more behind with old colored case orders, such as yours than with the rest of the orders, but we're catching up quickly with them these days. Your nice words are much appreciated! As you correctly noted, the ping sound is generally emitted by mechanical keyboards with metal plates. It's a tricky one because very few people report it as a problem, yet, it'd probably be a huge undertaking and potentially a lot of expense to redo the mechanical design and change the materials the UHK is made of to reduce it, so we don't plan to address it for the time being.
I just got my UHK v2 and I'm very happy. One small thing I've noticed now is that the large right control and large right shift is a little stiff. It doesn't seem related to the switch but the plastic stabilizers(?). Any tips on how to make them a little bit smoother?
Thanks for your kind words, and sorry to hear about the stabilizers. Recently, we've received some feedback like yours, so now we're doing more rigorous quality control and ordered alternative stabilizers. You can use machine oil on the stabilizers to make them smoother. Any further issues, please shoot an email to support at ultimatehackingkeyboard dot com, and my colleague will help you.
Mine had the same problems with stabilizers. There's something wrong with the stock Cherry ones - maybe too much lube? But, thanks to hot swap sockets, the stabilizers can be fairly easily changed to any ones you prefer. I replaced them with Everglide Plate Mount Stabilizer (Panda V3) from Aliexpress and it fixed the mushy key problem completely.
Hello, I'd like to ask if "expected ship date" is changed every status page update?
I've placed my #11735 order with expected April shipping and it seems like in the best scenario I'll get it in the middle of June.
So I don't believe that new orders have some adequate chance to be shipped before July (even though current estimate is June), because there are still a lot of non-black cases from 8800 to 12700 and next 2400 (10300-12700) orders before them.
It would be unfair to tell too optimistic (1-2 months less, which is 2 times longer) "rough" estimate every time.
Hi Leonid! We only update the expected shipping date when publishing new newsletters at the end of months. We'll ship early non-black cases quickly, but the rest may take more time than anticipated, especially in the current situation of long shipping times and the current global affairs. We'll update the ETA shortly. Thank you for your patience!
Got my v2 yesterday, yay! Blue color is great, wonderful shade. Sometimes you can't quite tell via online pictures, but I'm quite satisfied.
Things are setup, got the key cluster & trackpoint & palm rests, so remapped the Mouse to Caps Lock as I'm used to, and otherwise starting to get used to using the Mod, and occasionally Fn, keys for some of the special/extra things. Still might use a regular mouse for gaming though. Still getting used to it, but so far really enjoying it.
Anyways, so far A++!
I've got the keyboard tented, but not sure if I'd prefer even higher tenting or not. Any plans to make taller or multi-step feet for the v2? Or should I just go ahead and 3d print some feet extensions? Only problem is I don't think I have the right kind of soft & grippy rubber to help keep from moving.
Thanks for the kind words! Super glad to hear you're happy with your UHK.
We plan to provide higher tenting angles for upcoming UHKs. As for existing UHKs, 3D printing is definitely an option, and there are plenty of rubber feet available on online marketplaces like eBay or AliExpress.
Also, make sure to check out the UHK modding guides for existing 3D printed tenting designs and the UHK mounting layout.
Oh nice! Had no clue you had that page, lots of great things there to get started.
