The key cluster molds are being made

Hi there, and welcome to the monthly UHK status update!

TL;DR: Key cluster mold manufacturing is well underway. We’re getting close to the final design of the right side module molds, too.

Since our last monthly update, the design of the key cluster molds has been finalized, and now they’re under production. It’s always quite an experience to witness hunks of steel taking shape.

In the meantime, András and our contractor have been working hard to finalize the design of the right-side modules. As soon as this design gets finalized, our contractor will start to get these molds machined.

We’ve also ordered various parts, such as the optical sensor of the trackball, the mini trackball of the key cluster, and the FFC cables. This is quite an intense process for everyone involved, and we’re doing our best to hit our July ETA.

    Great Job!

Would you guys consider to sell wire individually in different lengths?

By wire, I mean the wire that connects two parts?

    Thanks!

Thanks! We don't plan to offer different lengths of the bridge cable because we want to focus on our core products. Luckily, it's pretty easy to get custom length bridge cables made.

The molds are very impressive! But I don't have any feeling about the size, but I can imagine it's small :-) ... please next time add an ruler or something to get an idea of size.

About the ETA, I don't believe you .. July is two months away. Your molds are in production now, then you have to do some test shots to see how the parts are. Then you need to make adjustments. All this will take time, and two months are just flying by in such cases. You can try to prove me wrong :-) but don't rush and put some half-working things on the market (there are already too many of them).

Great idea about a comparison object! There's a decent chance we won't hit our ETA, but in any case, we'll push as hard as we can. Don't worry, quality comes first, and we'll delay if needed.

    Any news? Are you ok?

I miss my monthly UHK update and hope there is no Corona involved.

Hi there, and very sorry for the late reply! We're fine, thanks. We're simply quite overwhelmed with a number of tasks related to the modules, hence the delayed monthly updates.
